Our Testing Methodology

Transparency is at the heart of everything we do. Here's how we test, evaluate, and score products.

Our Testing Process

1. Product Selection

We identify products to review based on market popularity, innovation, customer demand, and category coverage. Our goal is to test the products you're most likely to consider purchasing.

2. Real-World Testing

Every product undergoes extensive hands-on testing in realistic scenarios. We don't just read spec sheets — we use products as intended over extended periods to understand their true performance, reliability, and user experience.

3. Evaluation Criteria

Each product is evaluated across multiple dimensions:

  • Performance: How well does it do its job?
  • Build Quality: Materials, construction, durability
  • Value for Money: Price vs. features and quality
  • Ease of Use: Setup, learning curve, user experience
  • Features: Functionality, innovation, versatility

4. Scoring & Ranking

Products are scored on a 0-10 scale for each evaluation dimension. Our overall rating reflects the weighted average of these scores, with adjustments based on category-specific priorities. Rankings are determined by overall scores, with editorial discretion for tie-breakers.

Editorial Independence

Our testing and review process is completely independent from our affiliate relationships. While we earn commissions from qualifying Amazon purchases, this never influences which products we recommend or how we score them.

We maintain a strict separation between our editorial team (who test and review products) and our business operations (which manage affiliate partnerships). Our reviewers have no knowledge of commission rates and no financial incentive to favor any particular product.

Regular Updates

Product markets evolve rapidly. We commit to regularly updating our reviews to reflect:

  • New product releases and improved models
  • Price changes and availability shifts
  • Long-term performance insights from extended testing
  • Emerging trends and technology changes

Each review displays a "Last Updated" date so you know when we last refreshed the content.
